Load Tap Changer Filter System (online brochure)
The LTCF is a filtration unit designed to keep the load tap changer insulating oil at optimum dielectric strength without interrupting service. The LTCF reduces operation and maintenance costs by preventing the formation of carbon and other contaminants in the insulating oil. Our filters have proven to increase the maintenance intervals for load tap changers and provide worry free operation of transformers.

LTCF Features:
Automatic Shut Off - High pressure, low pressure, and leak detection turns the system off. Dry contact for remote alarm.
Automatic Re-Start - Automatic re-start system for voltage drop or power interruption.
Oil Make-Up - LTC reservoir can be topped off using 3-way valve oil make-up port. Separate sample port.
Pump and Piping - 3 GPM positive displacement gear pump with 1/3 HP TEFC motor. System internally plumbed with stainless steel pipe. Brass/Bronze ball valves and paddle wheel type sight glass.
LTCF Specifications:
Pump: - 3 gallons per minute flow rate. Heavy duty close-coupled self priming positive displacement gear pump with built in relief valve.
Piping - Stainless steel piping. Bronze double window sight glass with paddle wheel flow indicator on inlet side of filter vessel. Brass ball valves for sampling oil, adding oil, and draining oil.
Cabinet - NEMA 3R/14 gauge enclosure with powder baked exterior and interior finish. Hinged top for easy cartridge change-out, hinged front opening with spill containment reservoir. Lockable door. Base mounting brackets. Two screened louvers for ventilation. Dimensions: 30"W x 20"D x 36"H.
Filter Vessel & Filter - Manual vent epoxy coated filter vessel. Filter cartridge for removal of carbon and free water is included. Optional filter cartridge for removal of carbon contamination only is available.
Motor - 1/3 HP, 1PH, TEFC, 230VAC, 2.5A, 60HZ, 1725 RPM, thermally protected, fuse protected.
Controls - NEMA 4 enclosure with an on/off selector switch, high pressure alarm, low pressure alarm, leak detection alarm, auto restart for power interruption, remote alarm contacts, latching alarm relays, magnetic contactor, fuse protection for electrical components. Full electrical documentation included with each system. Quality Allen-Bradley control components.
Power Requirements - 230VAC, single phase
LTCF Options:
- Cabinet heater - 400 watts with adjustable thermostat.
- Filter - 150-CF cartridge for removal of carbon contamination
- Cabinet - Stainless steel main enclosure
- Timer - 24-hour mechanical timer can be set for hours of daily operation
