JCH Fuel Solutions was founded in 1998 by James C. Hinshaw in response to the demands of our customers who needed Diesel Fuel Cleaning & Maintenance Systems for polishing the diesel fuels & custom power cable assemblies.

What is a Load Tap Changer?
A Load Tap Changer (LTC) is a mechanical switching device designed to change the ratio of the input and output voltages over a transformer. LTCs are designed and implemented to prevent supply interruptions during a tap change in a transformer.

Back to topWhat are some of the problems with Load Tap Changers?
In order to avoid arcing at the contacts, the Load Tap Changer (LTC) is filled with insulating transformer oil. When the LTC switches, the end result is the accumulation of carbon contamination in the insulating oil. Temperature and other variables also casue condensation to occur in the insulating oil. Eventually carbon and water mix with the oil, decreasing the dielectric constant of the fluid, to a point where catastrophic failure can occur.

A JCH LTCF system is an online closed loop filtration system designed to keep the load tap changer insulating oil at optimum dielectric strength. The LTCF reduces operation and maintenance costs by preventing the formation of carbon and other contaminants in the insulating oil. Our filters have proven to increase the maintenance intervals for load tap changers and provide worry free operation of transformers.

What is a fuel polishing system?
A fuel polishing system removes fungi growth, moisutre and other contaminates from diesel fuel in order to increase engine efficiency and prevent failure.

It is estimated that eight out of every ten diesel engine failures have been directly related to contaminated fuel. The build-up of contaminates in fuel storage tanks can quickly clog filters and fuel injectors resulting in engine shut down, fuel pump wear and costly diesel engine damage. Plus, fouled injectors produce greater exhaust emissions affecting your engines ability to meet clean air standards.
